What is the weirdest job you've ever held?

Not sure I ever had a weird job. But when started in college, I was a computer science intern at PUCRS and one of my tasks was to deliver flyers about cultural and religious lectures to all university professors. By doing that I also had access to the Microsoft Innovation Center, where I could learn .NET framework and DirectX.

What is your favorite all-time game?

I don’t think I can pick just one, but Resident Evil, Final Fantasy VII and Witcher 3 are definitely games that I will never forget playing. I am also a big fan of soccer games, but not any game in particular, just whatever is the latest release each year.

What games are you playing right now?

At the moment, not many. I am playing Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 and Witcher 3 (needed to go back for more side quests). I’m thinking about picking up Death Stranding, but I am mostly looking forward to 2020 releases.

What motivated you to begin working in the game industry?

I love a lot of things about game development. Creating characters, stories, and experiences to be shared with others can be very rewarding. I had a great time watching people play Until You Fall during PAX. Making games requires several disciplines to come together. It also grasps a lot of different areas on the coding side (graphics, networking, gameplay, artificial intelligence, UI, etc). It’s a challenge, there’s always a new problem to solve, and I love puzzles.

What inspires you?

Mostly nature and folk metal music.

What is your proudest achievement?

That is a very hard question, but I think it is being a homeowner here in the United States. The journey was not easy, it took a lot of hard work, luck, and help.

What piques your curiosity?

The cosmos and science in general.

What is your hidden talent?

I wouldn’t call it a talent, but I enjoy playing guitar and soccer a lot.

When I think about it, I think it’s the talented people I get to work with and the life/work balance. Schell provides the best work environment, and has some of the most talented people I have ever had the honor to work with.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

Many don’t know, but I actually ended up serving in the Brazilian army when I was 16 thanks to a special high school program.
